With this weather comes an appreciation for warm and comfortable knit layers. In LA,  a knit sweater can be more than enough for the “colder days”. But, of course, I love a subtle detail to set the pace for the fit… enter the shawl knit cardigan.

Monday blues and the start of another gloomy week. Fret not, its a perfect opportunity (or excuse) to wear a dark wash denim jacket. I’m all about mixing casual pieces with that “9 to 5” style. Want to give your fit that effortless cool vibe? Switch out your blazer for a dark wash denim jacket.

I have been gravitating to more classic and easy fits (although I do miss a good shirt and tie combo, hitting the page soon!!). It’s important to have classic fits that are not just versatile but easy to throw on at any given moment. Step in the color black…

Lately, I have been going “back to basics” and embracing monochromatic fits that are not only classic and clean but very easy to put together. I mean, don’t get me wrong, dressing up to stand out is always one of my key tips. But, something about throwing on a statement, almost poetic, fit that is timeless and effortless also has this “wow” effect. Continue Reading

If you’ve kept a close look at my style, you can tell that it is always evolving and treading into new tends and styles. Yet, it’s always done with that timeless and classic approach that’s synonymous with who I am. After all, my approach has always been “keep it classic with a modern twist”. That’s why I am falling for Topman’s new LUX line. This collection is an intricately detailed range of modern designs crafted from advanced technical fabrics. Plus, hey were made for a city like LA, lightweight transitional outerwear pieces that are multifunctional. Continue Reading

It is finally beginning to feel like fall in LA… we even got some rain this week! As the days and nights get cooler, its time to start thinking about the pieces that can be easily layered to keep you extra warm. As you know, I am all about versatility in clothes. It’s important to wear an outfit that can easily go from work day to late night drinks with minor changes.

Every fall/winter season, there is always a color combination that calls to me. This season, I am drawn to various combinations of brown and blue. It is a refined and polished combo yet feels fresh and modern. The way that both colors complement each other yet somehow seem to stand out on their own makes it a great choice. Of course, for the colder season, going with darker variations of these two colors will be on par with the season vibes.

Another winner?? LAYERING. Wearing layers that are light but effective will keep you warm when you need it. I prefer a nice classic scarf with a subtle yet bold print like this solid color block version (found HERE) or a great fedora to set you apart on the busy streets. Of course, you can’t forget the ultimate must-have: a sweater. The subtle detailing throughout, like the ribbed collar and centre front button and concealed zip closure make it a true modern classic.

Last but not least, I am digging the revival of a clean and classic black shoe (specifically anything in the form of a chelsea like THESE from Rodd and Gunn). A sleek version of any shoe in black is timeless and classic and is the perfect balance for fall color combos. I can easily say most of my favorite shoes this season will be those in black (a separate blogpost on that to follow)

What I am wearing: all Rodd and Gunn; Sweater, pants; fedora, scarf, chelsea boots
