BROWNS, BLUES AND LAYERS

It is finally beginning to feel like fall in LA… we even got some rain this week! As the days and nights get cooler, its time to start thinking about the pieces that can be easily layered to keep you extra warm. As you know, I am all about versatility in clothes. It’s important to wear an outfit that can easily go from work day to late night drinks with minor changes.

Every fall/winter season, there is always a color combination that calls to me. This season, I am drawn to various combinations of brown and blue. It is a refined and polished combo yet feels fresh and modern. The way that both colors complement each other yet somehow seem to stand out on their own makes it a great choice. Of course, for the colder season, going with darker variations of these two colors will be on par with the season vibes.

Another winner?? LAYERING. Wearing layers that are light but effective will keep you warm when you need it. I prefer a nice classic scarf with a subtle yet bold print like this solid color block version (found HERE) or a great fedora to set you apart on the busy streets. Of course, you can’t forget the ultimate must-have: a sweater. The subtle detailing throughout, like the ribbed collar and centre front button and concealed zip closure make it a true modern classic.

Last but not least, I am digging the revival of a clean and classic black shoe (specifically anything in the form of a chelsea like THESE from Rodd and Gunn). A sleek version of any shoe in black is timeless and classic and is the perfect balance for fall color combos. I can easily say most of my favorite shoes this season will be those in black (a separate blogpost on that to follow)

What I am wearing: all Rodd and Gunn; Sweater, pants; fedora, scarf, chelsea boots
